Sensory play isn’t just about having fun, it encourages emotional & social development, creativity & imagination, and supports children to practise and develop essential motor control skills. Our Little Messy Learners classes are designed to introduce children to the basic marks found in all letter, number, and shape formation, as well as other foundational skills required for early years learning – all of which begin a long time before we ever pick up a pencil.

For babies and young toddlers, pre-writing skills are developed through refining our gross and fine motor skills during sensory play, and through exposure to our fun characters, the mark makers – Lionel, Archie, Swirlo, and Ziggy. For older preschool aged children, we further this development and encourage mark making in the messy play materials.

Classes are designed to help your child practise their essential fine motor, gross motor and tactile function skills – all of which are important for writing, as well as other daily tasks including buttoning shirts, pouring milk, and handling objects.
