Fizzy dinosaur eggs are a great mix of science, messy play and a lot of fun!! If you’re looking for an Activity Idea that will keep you busy, this is it!
Dinosaur play is always a favourite over at Little Messy Learners – Kwinana, Cockburn & Melville so when we created this super fun dinosaur activity one weekend we knew we had to share it!
Ingredients (Per Egg)
- 1/2 Cup – Bi-Carb Soda
- 1 tsp – Vegetable Oil
- 2 Tbsp – Citric Acid
- 2 drops – Food Dye
- Small Dinosaur
- In a container use your hands to mix the food colouring and bi-carb soda until the powder is thoroughly coloured.
- Add in the citric acid and continue mixing with your hands.
- Pour in the vegetable oil and mix it into a crumbly dough.
- Using your hands form the dough around your dinosaur like an egg!
Now for the best part!!! Pour some water over your egg and watch it fizz away as your dinosaur hatches!
Activity Idea to keep your Little Messy Learners busy and learning!
Here at Little Messy Learners, we pride ourselves in our non-stop learning through play and have our children soaking in the world of knowledge without them even knowing!
By practising their fine and gross motor skills we are strengthening their muscles and core movements to get them ready for their writing journey. With each activity we perform in our classes, we will be focusing on strengthening particular areas each week so they can go away and be confident when entering big school with all they have learned in our classes.
If you want to find something to do with your Little Messy Learners why don’t you look for your nearest class by clicking here! We hope to see you very soon.
